I’m Deanna McKinney—and like you, my home has two addresses.
One is a quiet street in the physical world. The other is a shifting, magical, often chaotic landscape called Azeroth.
If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you aren’t just looking for a random guide or a quick patch note. You’re looking for someone who speaks your language. You’re looking for a source that understands that a “minor class tuning” can mean the difference between a successful Mythic+ push and a night of frustrating wipes.
I founded this site because I grew tired of the “noise.” In an era of AI-generated fluff and clickbait headlines, I wanted to build a sanctuary of high-quality, human-verified intelligence for the World of Warcraft community.
My Journey: From the Gates of Ironforge to the Heart of the Worldsoul
My story with Warcraft started on November 23, 2004. I remember the exact weight of the retail box in my hands. I remember the smell of the manual. Most of all, I remember the feeling of absolute wonder when I first stepped into the snowy peaks of Dun Morogh.
Back then, there were no “BiS lists” or “Rotation Sims.” We were all pioneers, stumbling through the dark. But while most players were happy just to reach level 60, I found myself fascinated by the math behind the magic. I spent my teenage years filling notebooks with drop-rate statistics and talent-tree permutations. I didn’t just want to play the game; I wanted to master the engine that ran it.
As the years turned into decades, my role in the community evolved. I went from a hardcore “World-First” hopeful in a high-end raiding guild to a dedicated theorycrafter. I realized that my greatest joy wasn’t just looting a legendary weapon—it was helping my guildmates understand how to optimize their own play so they could feel like legends, too.
Why This Website Exists
I started this platform with a very specific mission: To respect the player’s time.
We live in an age of information overload. Between the Public Test Realm (PTR) leaks, Blue Posts, and a constant stream of social media updates, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. My goal is to filter that noise. When you come here, you aren’t just getting news; you’re getting analysis.
- Accuracy Above All: Every guide on this site is tested. Whether it’s a gold-making route or a Mythic+ strategy, I or a member of my hand-picked team has verified it in-game.
- Context Matters: I don’t just tell you which talent to pick. I explain why it’s the choice for this specific patch, and how it interacts with your gear.
- A Balance of Lore and Logic: I believe that WoW is at its best when the mechanics and the story work together. You’ll find deep dives into the narrative right alongside our technical spreadsheets.
The “Main” Life
People often ask me what I play. While I try to maintain a “Stable of Alts” to keep my guides current for every class, my heart has always belonged to the Shaman. There is something about the balance of the elements that mirrors my approach to the game—half technical precision, half creative flow.
When I’m not deep-diving into the latest patch notes or testing boss encounters on the PTR, I’m usually:
- The Auction House Hawk: I find the game’s economy as thrilling as any raid boss. If there’s a way to earn a WoW Token through smart crafting, I’ll find it.
- A Lore Enthusiast: I’ve spent countless hours reading the Chronicles and hunting for hidden flavor text in the far corners of the world.
- An Advocate for Accessibility: I believe WoW should be for everyone. I’m passionate about making guides that are accessible to players with different skill levels and physical needs.
My Promise to You
This site is a labor of love. It isn’t run by a faceless corporation or a content farm. It’s run by me, Deanna, and a small group of veterans who love this game as much as you do.
We aren’t here to tell you how you must play. We’re here to give you the tools to play the way you want—better, faster, and with more fun. Whether you’re a “Grey-parser” looking to take that next step, a professional gold-farmer, or a total “Newb” just trying to find your way to the Dragon Isles, you have a seat at my table.
Azeroth is a big place. It’s dangerous, it’s beautiful, and it’s constantly changing. I’m just glad I get to be one of your scouts.
See you in the world,
Deanna McKinney
